​Frederick "Fred" Herman Jones is a fictional character created by Ken Spears and Joe Ruby that first appeared in the 1969 TV series Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! He is the self-proclaimed leader of Mystery Inc., which includes Shaggy Rogers, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, and its mascot, the Great Dane Scooby-Doo. Fred is usually the one who designs the Rube Goldberg traps for the villains, which are accidentally set off by Shaggy and Scooby. He and Daphne are rumored by fans to be in a relationship. He has blonde hair, and wears an orange ascot, a white shirt, and blue jeans. He has been voiced by Frank Welker since 1969, while a younger version of himself was voiced by Carl Stephens in A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, from 1988-1991. He was portrayed by Freddie Prince, Jr. In the live-action film Scooby Doo in 2002, and Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed in 2004. He was also portrayed by Robbie Armell in the television films Scooby-Doo! Mystery Begins in 2009, and Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster in 2010.
